Yes, I have finally done it. I have managed to get my hands on a Kylie Jenner Lip kit - you may now applaud. And for any of you who have absolutely no idea what I am on about; first of all how? But second of all, Kylie Jenner (the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan) became rather famous for her plumped up pout. And after trying to keep everyone in the dark - very unsuccessfully - she finally admitted that her new pout was not because of some god given makeup trick, but because she actually had lip injections. I know, I know, she fooled us all. However, she did also say makeup was a big help in achieving this look, and then BOOM. Kylie Cosmetics was born. And like the impressionable little makeup addicts that we are; we continuously sell out the entire website within 20 minutes whenever there is a new launch. So, now that I have my hands on one of these bad boys, the only thing to obviously do is review it so that all of you lovely people can see if the fuss is really worth it.
Before I start this review I just want to add one thing. If you order anything from Kylie Cosmetics and you live in the UK, be prepared to pay a £30 customs fee on top of the price and delivery of the actual product. I know not everyone gets charged a fee - I luckily did not - however a lot of people have. So just be aware of that when purchasing.
How I got one
To start I am actually going to go through the process of how I actually bought one. Unless you have the Kylie Jenner app, you will have no idea when the next launch is. So if you are like me and don't fancy paying £7 a month for an app, then there are other alternatives. I follow an account on instagram called 'lipkit.update' and they post when the next restock is, what time it will be in different countries, when they have sold out, the best way to get them before they sell out, etc. I would highly recommend checking that account out if you are thinking of buying one.
The Dolce K lip liner is VERY pigmented which I love, however it is a really similar colour to the lipstick itself. Which is fine of course, but i personally prefer lip liners to be a little bit darker than my lipstick. But saying that, it is a very build-able formula so you can get a much more intense colour if you prefer. It is also a very smooth lip liner, it just glides across your lips making it very easy to apply and its just a super pretty colour, so its a big thumbs up from me.
I swear to god this lipstick could survive through an apocalypse. Its lasting power is unbelievable. I am also a rather pale person - like can't find a light enough foundation for my skin type pale - and I would say this is the perfect brown colour for my skin. Which also probably says a lot since this is meant to be classed as a nude #paleprobs. But in all seriousness, this is a gorgeous lipstick, the formula is incredible, it does not leave your lips feeling dry and chapped, it has a super fluffy applicator, and smells incredible. So I would highly recommend this product.
What it actually looks like
So finally, here is a complimentary selfie because that is obviously the first thing you have to do once getting one.
